Where is my data stored? Dove sono salvati i miei dati?

SecondBrain stores your notes, folders and calendar events in a Supabase PostgreSQL database hosted in the European Union, isolated per account with Row-Level Security so you can only reach your own data. Voice and text are processed in real time by Google Gemini on its paid API tier, which does not train on your content. Everything travels over HTTPS, and you can delete your account and all its data at any time from the app.

How SecondBrain handles your data.

SecondBrain ("we", "our", or "the app") is an AI-powered note-taking assistant. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Data We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide the app's features:

  • Account information, your email address and display name, collected during sign-up via Google, Apple, or email and password authentication.
  • User-generated content, the notes, folders, summaries, and calendar events you create within the app.
  • Voice recordings, audio you record is processed in real time to create notes. Recordings are sent to Google Gemini for transcription and are not permanently stored on our servers.
  • Timezone, used to correctly schedule calendar events.
  • Advertising and usage identifiers, only if you agree to the App Tracking prompt on your device. In that case a small set of app events (such as install and app open) and your device advertising identifier are shared with Meta so we can measure whether our ads bring people to the app. If you decline the prompt, no advertising identifier is collected and no cross-app tracking takes place. Your notes, voice, and calendar are never part of this.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • AI processing, your text and audio are sent to Google Gemini (paid API tier) to generate notes, summaries, and calendar events. Your content is processed in real time, is not used to train AI models, and is retained by Google only briefly for abuse and safety monitoring, per Google's paid API terms.
  • Storage, your notes, folders, and calendar events are stored in a Supabase PostgreSQL database hosted in the European Union, isolated by user account via Row-Level Security (RLS).
  • Authentication, we use Supabase Auth with Google OAuth and Apple Sign-In to securely manage your account.
  • Advertising measurement, if you allow tracking, Meta's SDK reports coarse app events so we can tell which ads work. It never receives your notes, voice, or calendar.

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following services to operate the app:

  • Google Gemini, AI processing of voice and text (paid API tier, no training on your data).
  • Supabase, database, authentication, and backend functions, hosted in the EU.
  • Google OAuth / Apple Sign-In, secure authentication.
  • RevenueCat / Apple / Google Play, to manage subscriptions. They receive purchase data, never your notes.
  • Meta, app-install ad attribution only, and only with your consent through the App Tracking prompt.

Each service processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy.

4. What We Never Do With Your Content

  • We never use your notes, voice, or calendar for advertising.
  • We never use your content to train AI models.
  • We never sell your personal data.
  • The only tracking we do is optional ad-performance measurement through Meta, which you control with the App Tracking prompt and which never touches your notes, voice, or calendar.

5. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Database access is enforced by Row-Level Security policies, meaning each user can only access their own data. Access tokens are stored hashed, and integration tokens can be revoked at any time. Authentication is managed securely by Supabase Auth.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as you maintain an active account. You may delete your entire account and all associated data at any time from within the app (Settings, then Delete Account). Deletion is immediate and irreversible across our live database. Encrypted operational backups roll off on a short schedule (days, not months), after which the data is permanently gone. You can request a full export of your data at any time by emailing us.

7. Children's Privacy

SecondBrain is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

  • Fuso orario, usato per programmare correttamente gli eventi di calendario.
  • Identificatori pubblicitari e d'uso, solo se accetti il messaggio di tracciamento del tuo dispositivo. In quel caso un piccolo insieme di eventi dell'app (come installazione e apertura) e l'identificatore pubblicitario del dispositivo vengono condivisi con Meta per misurare se le nostre inserzioni portano persone all'app. Se rifiuti, non viene raccolto alcun identificatore pubblicitario e non avviene alcun tracciamento tra app. Le tue note, la tua voce e il tuo calendario non ne fanno mai parte.

2. Come usiamo i tuoi dati

  • Elaborazione AI, il tuo testo e il tuo audio vengono inviati a Google Gemini (versione a pagamento dell'API) per generare note, riassunti ed eventi. I dati sono elaborati in tempo reale, non vengono usati per addestrare modelli di AI e vengono conservati da Google solo per un breve periodo per il monitoraggio di abusi e sicurezza, secondo i termini dell'API a pagamento di Google.
  • Archiviazione, note, cartelle ed eventi sono salvati in un database PostgreSQL su Supabase ospitato nell'Unione Europea, isolati per account tramite Row-Level Security (RLS).

  • L'unico tracciamento che facciamo è la misurazione, facoltativa, dell'efficacia delle inserzioni tramite Meta, che controlli con il messaggio di tracciamento e che non tocca mai le tue note, la tua voce o il tuo calendario.

5. Sicurezza dei dati

Tutti i dati viaggiano su HTTPS. L'accesso al database è regolato da policy di Row-Level Security, quindi ogni utente può accedere solo ai propri dati. I token di accesso sono salvati in forma hashata e i token delle integrazioni possono essere revocati in qualsiasi momento. L'autenticazione è gestita in sicurezza da Supabase Auth.

6. Conservazione e cancellazione

I tuoi dati restano finché mantieni un account attivo. Puoi cancellare l'intero account e tutti i dati associati in qualsiasi momento dall'app (Impostazioni, poi Elimina account). 4. Account & Data

What is SecondBrain?

SecondBrain is an AI-powered note-taking assistant that turns your voice recordings and text into organized notes, summaries, and calendar events.

How does the shared memory work?

Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant to SecondBrain, and they all read and write one memory, your own notes. Tell it once and every assistant remembers it, in the next chat and on another device. It is a Pro feature.

Is my data safe?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit, stored in an isolated database, and never shared or sold. We do not use analytics or tracking.

How do I delete my account?

Open the app, go to Settings, then Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data. See the Account Deletion page for details.

Does SecondBrain use my data to train AI?

No. Your data is processed in real time by Google Gemini and is not used for model training.

Is SecondBrain available on Android?

Yes. SecondBrain is live on Google Play, alongside the iPhone app on the App Store.

How to permanently delete your account and data.

How to delete your account

You can permanently delete your SecondBrain account and all associated data directly from the app:

  1. Open SecondBrain on your device.
  2. Navigate to Settings (gear icon).
  3. Scroll down and tap Delete Account.
  4. Confirm the deletion when prompted.
What gets deleted

Account deletion is immediate and irreversible. The following data is permanently removed:

  • Your account and authentication credentials
  • All notes and folders
  • All summaries and generated content
  • All calendar events created within SecondBrain
  • Display name and user settings

No data is retained after deletion. There is no recovery option.

Come eliminare il tuo account

Puoi eliminare in modo permanente il tuo account SecondBrain e tutti i dati associati direttamente dall'app:

  1. Apri SecondBrain sul tuo dispositivo.
  2. Vai su Impostazioni (icona dell'ingranaggio).
  3. Scorri in basso e tocca Elimina account.
  4. Conferma l'eliminazione quando richiesto.
Cosa viene eliminato

L'eliminazione dell'account è immediata e irreversibile. Vengono rimossi in modo permanente i seguenti dati:

  • Il tuo account e le credenziali di autenticazione
  • Tutte le note e le cartelle
  • Tutti i riassunti e i contenuti generati
  • Tutti gli eventi di calendario creati in SecondBrain
  • Nome visualizzato e impostazioni utente

Nessun dato viene conservato dopo l'eliminazione. Non c'è possibilità di recupero.
